<div><span style="color: #800000;">Embryonic  stem cell research, once again in the political cross hairs following  last month’s court ruling halting most federal funding, has an even  bigger money problem.  Private funding sources are avoiding investment in stem cell research until the regulation of the entire stem cell research field is stable.  It is a commonly known fact that private capital will take business risk but will not take political risk.  This problem must be resolved before the U.S. can reclaim its lead in medical research.<br />
